In 2019, Salman Khan starring ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ was released in Japan, it was acclaimed by both critics and fans. And in 2020, Salman returns to screens with the same year’s hit ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. The film was once screened at Indian Film Festival Japan 2016 and gained massive popularity from Japanese fans.

Savitri was born and raised in Rajasthan. She learns martial arts from a monk for self-defense. Years later, in Los Angels, she falls in love with an Indian man Satya. An adaptation of ‘Savitry and Satyavan’ from Mahabarata. Times of India reports that this film received backlash for its depiction of the Hindu goddess (Savitri) as a modern woman and the director was threats from religious fundamentalists.
