Save the Cinema Campaign
Since the spread of COVID-19, cinemas in Japan had to cancel the screening and close their business. No supports from the government, cinemas suffers days without any profit. To save independent cinemas in Japan, people from the film industry launched ‘Save the Cinema’ project in April. They presented petitions to the National Diet (parliament) and started cloud-funding.

Cloud-funding ‘Mini-theatre Aid’ is also launched. Returns are cinema tickets and OTT service tickets. Funding will be closed on May 14th.
